Start with movement

A good firing position gives you somewhere to go next. While learning an area, notice broad routes, solid obstacles and the gaps between them. When an enemy approaches, move toward open space early enough to keep another route available.

On desktop, the default controls use WASD for movement and the mouse for aiming. Check the control hints in the game and Settings if you have changed your bindings. On a phone, get comfortable with the movement and aiming controls in Free Mode before chasing a score.

Treat reloading as a decision

Watch the weapon display instead of waiting for an empty magazine to surprise you. Use a quiet moment to reload, and avoid beginning a long commitment when the route beside you is closing.

Different weapons reward different positions. A spread weapon wants a useful angle on a group; a narrow shot wants a clear line. Explosives need enough room for you to keep moving while the action resolves. Learn the current weapon’s rhythm before swapping simply because another pickup is nearby.

Spend tools with a purpose

A dodge is most useful when you already know where it will take you. Grenades can help when a group makes a route difficult to use. Neither replaces checking the ground and obstacles around the destination.

Health and other pickups are opportunities, not instructions to stand still. Look at the approach, collect when the space is manageable, then return your attention to the next threat.

Follow the mission cues

Use the objective tracker and direction marker to decide where to head. Read the current step when you reach machinery or a marked location. Staying near an interaction long enough to begin it may be more useful than circling it while wondering what to press.

A run can teach you a route even when it ends early. Remember where you lost room, which weapon state caught you out, and whether you had an exit before the fight started.

Choose the right mode

Free Mode is a place to practise. Ranked results are checked by the arcade server before being published on the testnet leaderboard. See how Ranked works before your first entry.
